Being a
fool is not-stop knitting pullovers with this heatwave, but that’s me! After
the baby jacket I showed you last week, I’ve started with this pullover using
some stash I had left from the KAL "Proyecto Final" organized by Pearl Knitter. Again,
it’s a free pattern from Creativa Atelier, and I’m sure it won’t be the last one!

Chaqueta de punto para bebé
Knitting
baby projects is always grateful: you finish them quite fast and they’re so
cute! As those who follows me on Instagram already know, these weeks I’ve been
working in this baby jacket, a free pattern by Creativa Atelier. It’s quite
well explained and the step-by-step indications are easy to follow. I’ve only
made some minor changes. My jacket measures the indicated final measurements of
the pattern, however I find it a bit large for a 1 month old baby. The finishing touch was the apple button I
found in my grandmother’s button box, I find it just perfect!

I must
reduce my wool stash urgently. My craft storage is full of wool and cotton balls
from different past projects (some mines and some inherited). The first step is
to categorize the unlabeled balls (the most of them). For that purpose, thispost of Desmadejada with some tips to identify a yarn gauge, needle size, length,
etc., is very useful. Once clear, here you have some inspirational ideas
regarding what to do with your stash. And don’t forget the sample step!

¡Buen finde!
And finally here you have my Sandy Winter Cable Hat! As I told you before, it has been an easy and funny project I heartily recommend you. All the information you need is in this previous post. And remember, it's a free pattern!

Fuente: Crazy Hands
Finding the
right pattern (free if possible) and having the perfect materials at home is
something that not always happens. But sometimes it does. I was thinking of
knitting a warm hat for my European trips when I came across this Crazy Hands’
project. As soon as I had the opportunity I got down to work, it was somewhere
in between Seville and Brussels. The pattern is easy and funny, and in a few
days I’ve almost finished my hat. I'll show it to you soon!

This week I
want to introduce you a new solidary initiative coming from the handmade world.
The Asociación de Labores Solidarias de la IAIA is coordinating the initiative “Todos manos a la labor” that aims to knit and crochet scarfs for people that could
need them in these cold days. Last year
they organized the “Scarfs Night” and tied these handmade scarfs in trees and
street lamps all around Spain. More than 100 scarfs were knitted by the association. This year
they have the challenge to collet 1.000 scarfs to be sent to Syrian children
refugees in Europe. Are you joining them?

As I mentioned you
some weeks ago, the Textured Shawl KAL was one of my first knitted projects. I
finished it and gave it as a Christmas present to my aunty without blocking…
Bad idea! The shawl had a strange shape and it was too small. Now I’m readdressing
the situation. You can see the before in the post and the after here. Moral and
mental note: blocking a knitted project is an essential step!

Textured Shawl - Uno de mis primeros KAL
I love KALs
(Knit ALong). By an organized KAL I’ve knitted: my Tulip Tank Top, my Proyecto Final, my Deep end Shawl or my City Cape. One of the first KAL I participated in
was this Textured Shawl organized by Things to
knit in 2013: you can check the
materials needed and the pattern here. With its different stitches, it is quite funny
to knit and affordable for non-experienced knitters. I made in my fetish color:
mustard!
